About this blog
This blog is the "real" version of the "virtual" blog I've done for a few years by sending out occasional essays to a list of friends. Folks who've been recipients of those pieces will see most of them here, interspersed with a little poetry, new and old. I take this to be unlike a lot of blogs in that the length of the posts is sometimes quite long, and in that the frequency of the posting will continue sporadic--so please sign up for notification by email if you'd like to be kept apprised of new posts. Comments and criticism are most welcome. I'd appreciate it if such comments are kept non-anonymous. I'm happy for anything that appears here to be shared freely, no permission needed. Special thanks to Laura Shaw Feit, who suggested I take this into the realm of the non-virtual, and who was kind enough to put it together for me. And thanks to everyone who takes time to read and think about this stuff.
